![]() It’s a universal truth that doesn’t get talked about enough in my opinion.įor those who know Peter Wolf, let me know if I’m getting the blues categorization wrong. ![]() (Even better that you’re acknowledging that loneliness with Keith Richards of all people.) This group acknowledgement of solitude was even more present on the next track, where the chorus lament is that “there are some things about us that you don’t want to know.” Everyone gets there chance at loneliness and being “off”, so to speak. This, to me, was the acknowledgement of loneliness and an expression of comfort in being in that space, and pouring it out into a sweet blues tune. Even more than that, I enjoyed the speaking between band members on “Too Close Together”. Maybe I was just hyper sensitive to this this week, but I really enjoyed hearing that reflected in Sleepless this week. If I could capture this in a bottle, I would have – it’s one man plaintively singing his regrets, and a chorus of equally lonely instruments singing in perfect harmony with him and away from him. Merely on a sonic level, the man captured all the space and isolation that you could want, all while being surrounded by a full ensemble which we’ll discuss in a bit. I just did a recital based on how we as people deal with loneliness, and try though I might, I feel like Peter Wolf just summed up everything way better than I ever could. ![]() I am so grateful that I, unlike Peter Wolf, am now able to sleep knowing that all of these events went off virtually without hitch thanks to the efforts of my loved ones. ![]() We’re gonna dedicate this review to my parents, my friends, and everyone who helped in some small way in getting me through these last 10 days. I’m so sorry to have kept you all on the edge of your seat, but my grad recital was this past week and I spent the weekend before that in auditions in Toronto and Montreal. ![]()
